10 pairs of figures tested 16 ways across the 18 miners on file, on data as of 2026-09-06: the strongest fit on at least 8 points is annualized revenue on realized hashrate, both in log10 (R squared 0.47, n 10, p 0.028); 36 reach p under 0.01 on enough points to be an article candidate. Over the last 365 sessions the median miner's daily log return moved 1.13 for each 1.00 of bitcoin's (18 miners, 16:00 ET on NYSE session dates).

01 PAIRS: 10 PAIRS OF FIGURES, 15 WITH A FIT

Each panel is one question the brief asked of the figures, the scatter with the least-squares line, the full read-out, and the inputs. A pair on two sizes also carries the test on log10 of both.

01 REVENUE AGAINST HASHRATE

FORMULAS

Revenue is a share of network hashrate times the bitcoin price (spec 7.1), so realized hashrate should carry annualized revenue.

04 QUARTER TO QUARTER: 4 POOLED TESTS ON LOG CHANGES

The time-series statistics: consecutive quarters of every company stacked into one sample, so a relation is read across quarters rather than across companies. The points are not independent draws, and each panel says so.

01 REVENUE ON SHARES

FORMULAS

Whether quarters in which the share count grew were quarters in which revenue grew: dilution against growth, before any price is on file.

229 quarter-pairs from 14 companies: x is the quarter-to-quarter log change in revenue, y the quarter-to-quarter log change in shares outstanding.

Leverage is the OLS slope of the miner's daily log return on bitcoin's (bitcoin at 16:00 et on each nyse session date (spec 5.5)), the same number as its beta against bitcoin; volatility is the standard deviation of daily log returns times the square root of 252; the joint betas come from one regression on bitcoin and S&P 500 together.

08 TECHNICAL OVERLAY

FORMULAS

The chart indicators of spec 7.1, drawn only after the study of what each went with: moving averages, Bollinger bands, the Ichimoku lines, RSI, MACD and the swing levels, computed on closes, each with its formula on the methodology page.

Pooled across 18 miners, 9 of 22 signal-and-horizon rows differ at p under 0.01: 50-session SMA above the 200-session SMA at 21 sessions (-0.0548); MACD histogram positive at 21 sessions (0.0438); MACD histogram negative at 21 sessions (-0.0438); close above the Ichimoku cloud at 21 sessions (-0.0284); 50-session SMA above the 200-session SMA at 5 sessions (-0.0134); close below the lower Bollinger band at 21 sessions (0.0523); RSI(14) under 30 at 5 sessions (0.0277); RSI(14) over 70 at 21 sessions (-0.041); RSI(14) under 30 at 21 sessions (0.0464). The windows overlap and the miners move together, so every p here overstates the evidence; the overlay below draws every indicator regardless and states nothing about the next session.

10 METHOD

METHODOLOGY

What was computed, from which files, under which rules.

  1. Inputs: 39 files under data/, each named with its hash in the document; the research packs of 2026-09-06 (Tier 1) and 2026-09-06 (Tier 2), and each company's XBRL facts read under the period rule on the methodology page.
  2. Sample statistics throughout: the variance divides by n minus 1; the regression has n minus 2 degrees of freedom; p-values are two-sided from the Student t distribution; Spearman's p uses the t approximation on the rank correlation.
  3. A test needs 3 points; under 8 it is shown with the caveat that one company can move it; a size pair is also tested on log10 of both figures, and a non-positive value is dropped and named.
  4. Prices: data/prices_history.json, written by scripts/prices.py, each close tagged with its source; bitcoin for every equity comparison is the 16:00 ET sample on NYSE session dates (spec 5.5). Every indicator is computed on closes, and the site's own indicator code is checked against the job's fixture to four decimals.
  5. The job is site/scripts/analysis.py with returns_study.py, standard library only, run nightly by the analysis workflow; version 8451b1a67fc1 at b36a255. It forecasts nothing and writes no sentence that says what a relation means.
